Here's everything we have for Midnight Pets!



1. System & Content Changes




  • In Midnight, wild pets will now be "captured" by clicking on them. They will then appear in your bag, like an item.

  • Expect roughly ~ 90 % of the new pets on Midnight's release to be "peaceful" pets, meaning they will have no stats, no abilities, and will not battle. This appears to impact wild pets the most.

  • Changes to wild pets in Midnight are not retroactive, and pets in Classic zones through The War Within will retain their stats, abilities, and capabilities to battle. If an old wild pet is in a revamped zone, like Eversong Woods, it will be designated as something like: Wild Battle: Eversong Woods (Burning Crusade), and will not be impacted by the Midnight changes.

  • No new tamers will be added to the upcoming/revamped zones.

  • Family achievements will be added to old world, existing tamers in Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms, and Northrend. These tamers are currently scaling to the highest level pet on your team, just as we see in recent battles. That said, the achievements will require you to defeat them with a full team of 25s, and their pets' qualities/rarity have not changed, so it still won't be much of a challenge until you hit Northrend.

  • All content from previous expansions, Classic through The War Within, will remain in-game and will not be removed.

  • Peaceful Pet quality cannot currently be upgraded, and wild pet spawn times can range from 15 minutes to 1 hour.

So disappointed in this new pet "collecting" system. What collector wants white or green pets with no option of finding rares in the wild. And the fireworks when u put your hand on them!!!! As though its some great achievement. Theyve destroyed pet collecting and all i can assume is that none of the current staff at Blizz are collectors and therefore couldnt care less. Makes me sad. I lloved finding pets in the wild and having to work a bit to find rares and then capture. Now we have the silly housing thing as an offering to replace. So disappointed and a bit angry too. And dont forget levelling them! and farming tokens to turn the puny whites and greeens into rares!

Thank you so much for all of this. It's so disheartening to see pet battles nerfed. Yet another case of Blizz not caring about keeping a dedicated (and heretofore loyal) subset of players happy. Right now, I honestly don't know whether I will bother to "upgrade" to Midnight. (edited)
