Several alternative pets and breeds are possible (including using non-level 25 pets or choosing a first pet that does Luz solar: same effect on Health as Iluminar, but less damage initially), but this strategy only works well with pets that have sufficient Health (the more the better if you want them to be usable on other Beasts of Fable as well, and notably Ti'un el Vagabundo).
